About The R.A.W. Collective

The R.A.W. Collective was created from a simple belief: life can change us, challenge us, and sometimes take us places we never expected, but those experiences do not have to define the limits of who we become.

R.A.W. stands for Resiliency, Authenticity, and Worth—three ideas that are at the heart of everything we do.

Resiliency is not about pretending that hard things do not hurt. It is about learning how to keep moving, adapting when necessary, and discovering that strength can exist alongside struggle.

Authenticity is about giving yourself permission to show up as you are. There is freedom in taking off the mask, letting go of who you think you are supposed to be, and becoming more comfortable with the person you are becoming.

Worth is something you already possess. It is not something you have to earn through achievement, productivity, relationships, or the approval of other people.

The R.A.W. Collective brings these ideas together through education, conversation, creativity, faith, and opportunities for reflection and growth. It is the organizational home for initiatives including Strength & Selah, Pull Up A Chair with Dr. Paula, and The Regulated Soul, as well as workshops, speaking engagements, courses, and other educational experiences.

Each part of the Collective may look a little different, but the heart behind them is the same: creating spaces and resources that meet people where they are and walk alongside them as they navigate life.

Why R.A.W.

The R.A.W. Collective is more than a business name. It is deeply personal. R.A.W. were my younger brother’s initials. He was my “baby” brother, but he was also a very wise young man and one of my greatest encouragers. Whatever I wanted to do, he supported me. He celebrated my wins, comforted me through my losses, and often reminded me that I was capable of more than I sometimes believed.

He also taught me a great deal by the way he lived his own life. At 13 years old, he almost died. He carried the physical scar from that experience and faced limitations in some of the things he could do, but he never allowed either to define what he could become. He knew his value. He knew his worth. And when life required him to adapt, he did. To me, he was the epitome of resilience. He also showed up authentically—no filter, no mask, simply true to who he was. He never tried to be anyone other than himself.

After his death, grief changed me. For about five years, I wasn't really living. I was simply existing. As I began finding my way through that grief, I often thought about my brother and what he would want me to do. I could almost hear that familiar voice encouraging me again, reminding me to keep going.

His encouragement, coupled with my faith, helped me begin walking out of a season of grief that had kept me still for far too long. And I am still learning from him.

That is why Resiliency, Authenticity, and Worth are more than words attached to his initials. They represent values I witnessed in someone I loved deeply and values I want reflected in the work created through The R.A.W. Collective. My brother’s initials gave R.A.W. its name, and his life helped give it meaning.

Through this Collective, I hope to walk alongside others as they navigate their own lives—the wins, the losses, the unexpected turns, the rebuilding, and everything in between.

R.A.W. grew from more than a business idea. There is a story behind its creation, and that story is deeply personal. It shaped not only the name of the Collective, but also the commitment behind the work we do today.
